"Nations Gathered For Worship - Sharing The Truth In Love"
Our Beliefs
At
West Oaks Fellowship, we hold certain beliefs as essentials within our Christian faith and spiritual experience. Thus we advocate and proclaim the following convictions:
The Bible is God's inspired Holy Word, given, preserved, and protected by Him as a precious gift and benefit for all mankind.
God is the one true God who reveals Himself to mankind in three distinct persons: God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the second person of the triune God, the eternal Word and only begotten Son of God, who came to earth by the miracle of the virgin birth, being truly God and truly human, living righteously, tempted in all points of life as we are, yet without sin. Christ, as the perfect Lamb of God, gave Himself in death upon the cross – bearing the sins of the world and suffering its full penalty in our place. He arose from the grave in a physically resurrected body, conquering sin and death. As our great High Priest, He sits at the right hand of God the Father, where He is an Advocate and Intercessor for all believers.
Christ's Return is Imminent — Upon His return to earth, He will establish a kingdom and throne of righteousness, from which He shall rule and reign over all, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Human Life is uniquely created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore deserves respect, honor, and protection, without any form of discrimination or prejudice.
All Mankind is by nature and deed, sinful, thus separated from God and in need of forgiveness and eternal restoration.
Salvation from sin is by grace and grace alone through faith in the sacrificial, atoning work of Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son.
Satan, or the Devil, is a real spiritual being, and his servants, demons, are great adversaries of Christianity and all who call themselves believers. However, through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan is now and forever a defeated foe.
Resurrection in bodily form awaits all who have died, either unto reward for Christians, or eternal judgment for those who choose to reject the good news of Christ's life, death, resurrection and message of eternal hope.
Saints are all Christians, whom upon their personal belief in Christ, are granted individual priesthood before God.
Two Institutions, the Family/Marriage and the Church, were uniquely designed, founded, and formed by God for His glory and the benefit/blessing of His most prized creation -- humanity.
- The Family/Marriage. Marriage is the spiritual, physical, and civil union of one man/male, as a husband to one woman/female, as a wife in a biblically created, sacred covenant relationship for God's ordained purposes of life-long companionship, exclusive heterosexual intimacy, and procreation (the conception, birth, and subsequent rearing/training of children).
- The Church is a local, independent, self-governing, New Testament, spiritual organization, where the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, is faithfully served and worshipped as Lord.
Church Ordinances are for Christians. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Himself established two: Baptism and Communion (The Lord's Supper).
Righteous Living & Faithful Service is the call of every believer. Righteousness, though not obtained through laws or religious rituals, is produced through God's abundant grace and mercy as we surrender in obedience to His purpose and direction for our lives. Thus, we are living testimonies of His unending work and faithfulness in our church family, community, and our society.
"In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good
servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of
the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following."
